Policies.

A strong city requires clear priorities. These policies focus on making Adelaide more active, more prosperous, and easier to live, work, and do business in.

Reviving the city centre

Too many buildings in Adelaide's CBD sit partially empty — particularly the upper floors of heritage and commercial buildings. That is lost opportunity for housing, business activity and economic growth.

Adelaide should activate vacant space across the city by encouraging the use of upper floors for residential and commercial purposes. Bringing more people into the city will strengthen local businesses, improve street activity, and make the CBD more vibrant at all hours.

Supporting small business and hospitality

Cafes, restaurants and small businesses are the backbone of the city's street life. They create jobs, attract visitors, and make Adelaide a place people want to experience.

Council policy should support these businesses, not create unnecessary barriers. I will work to reduce unnecessary costs and simplify processes that affect small operators — and outdoor dining, parklets, and street activation should be encouraged wherever possible.

A city that moves

Adelaide must remain a city that is easy to move around. Transport should work for everyone — whether they walk, cycle, use public transport, or drive.

The council should focus on improving mobility rather than creating unnecessary conflict between transport users. Roads, public transport, and active transport networks should work together to keep the city accessible and efficient.

Activating the Parklands

Adelaide's parklands are one of the defining features of the city, and one of its greatest assets. They should be maintained and enhanced so they continue to serve residents, visitors, and future generations.

Some areas of the parklands require renewed investment and attention. I will prioritise the improvement of neglected areas so they once again become places people want to spend time.

A vibrant city life

Adelaide has built an international reputation for festivals, culture, and creativity. The city should continue to support activities that bring people into the CBD and keep the streets active.

Events, street culture, outdoor dining, and public spaces all play a role in creating a city that feels alive. Council policy should support these activities and recognise their economic and cultural value.

Responsible financial management

The council must remain financially responsible. Ratepayers expect transparency, discipline, and careful stewardship of public funds.

Long-term financial planning must be credible and sustainable. Investment decisions should be carefully assessed to ensure they deliver value for the community. Strong governance and responsible financial management are essential to maintaining public confidence.

Transparency · Discipline · Stewardship

Planning for the future

Adelaide has the potential to grow into one of the most dynamic cities in Australia. With thoughtful planning and strong leadership the city can attract investment, increase residential population, and strengthen its economic base.

The focus will be on ensuring the council supports long-term growth while protecting the character and strengths that make Adelaide unique. The goal is straightforward: a city that is active, growing, and full of opportunity.
